There are two authentic portraits of Andreas Vesalius in existence. Vesalius is known for his work in human anatomy. He was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1514 and died in 1564.
Perhaps the most interesting is Portrait #1. The artist of this portrait, dated 1543, is unknown. However, this portrait of Vesalius holding an arm appeared in his text De humani corporis fabrica. This book contained drawings of dissected human body parts.

Portrait #2 was engraved by Tintoretto, 1518-1594. The date on this portrait is unknown. Tintoretto was born in 1518 and died in 1594.

There are two post mortem portraits to be mentioned. The first portrait was painted by Sir Peter Lely. Lely (1618-1680) was an English painter of Dutch descent. The second portrait is by Antoine Dezarrois.
It is possible that there are additional existing authentic portraits of Vesalius. It is not known how often he may have sat for portraits, but there is always a possibility that one may exist.
