There are two authentic portraits of Charles Darwin in existence. Darwin was a naturalist who is famous for his theory of evolution. He was born in England in 1809 and died in 1881.

Portrait #1 is of Darwin as a young child. The artist is unknown. The portrait was painted in 1816 when Darwin was just seven years old. Young Darwin was raised in a wealthy family.

George Richmond (1809-1896) painted Portrait #2. The English artist painted the the water-colour in 1840.

Though photography was in existence towards then end of Darwin's life, there was a portrait painted of the scientist looking much like we are used to seeing him with a long white beard.
It is possible that additional portraits of Darwin exist. Photography was in existence during his lifetime which greatly affected the number of portraits of the scientist. However, because Darwin came from a wealthy family, it is not unreasonable to believe that more portraits of him exist.
