Girl Waiting

In the late twentieth century, Phillipe Marchand made his new style of painting known throughout France. In the 1950’s Phillipe Marchand attended the Academy of Fine Art in Paris, France. Marchand tirelessly studied in the Louvre Museum copying the Masters. Marchand challenged himself to push boundaries, whether he was studying classic or abstract styles. Marchand combined styles of the past with the contemporary style of his peers. Marchand’s work references such painters as Cezanne, Modigliani, Picasso and Braque. Marchand expresses trends from Cubism, Impressionism and Surrealism in his paintings.
