Lynge was a Greenlandic artist known for his paintings, prints and sculptures. His subject matter generally focused on maternal figures and legend of Greenland. His paintings, while informed by European Impressionism, depicted the inspiring landscapes of his home country.

While his oil paintings were more reminiscent of European painting, his watercolors are more colorful and instinctual. He showed groups of Inuit people in various settings, often outdoors amidst impressive landscapes.
