Petar Lubarda was an award-winning Montenegrin and Yugoslav painter. Lubarda was born in Ljubotinj, near Cetinje Montenegro. He studied in Paris in Belgrade, remaining in the latter until his death. Lubarda’s work mostly centered around the history of the region, including the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. He also made a number of landscape paintings of Montenegro.

Lubarda was commemorated in 2007 in the issue of a stamp printed in his honor by the Serbian post. His history paintings are now held in a number of regional and international museums.
