The Grape Seller

Adriaan de Lelie was an 18th century Dutch painter, known for his portraits of Dutch aristocrats and the nobility. De Lelie studied portraiture in Düsseldorf as well as Antwerp, and was said to have essentially invented the Dutch conversation piece. He is best known for his historical paintings which depict the Felix Meritis Society, a group of forty prominent Antwerp residents.
