Jean-Jacques-Francois Le Barbier was an 18th century French Neoclassical painter. Le Barbier began his studies in Rouen at 17 and traveled to Paris after he won his first prize for drawing. He spent many years in Switzerland as an illustrator and returned to France in 1780. Afterwards, he regularly exhibited with the salons, depicting religious and historical scenes.
