Friedrich von Amerling was an 19th century Austrian portrait painter. He was the Court Painter for the House of Hapsburg, and his brother Waldmuller was also a favored portrait painter of the nobility of the time. He studied in Wien, Paris and London, and is often considered one of the best portrait painters of the 19th century in Austria. |
